Kay Griffith presents "Convergence" at the MET

February 4 through April 21

Abstract Expressionist Kay Griffith of Salado is gracing our main gallery with a spectacular solo exhibition, Convergence, featuring over 65 works. Griffith is an international artist and has been named one of the Top 60 Masters of Contemporary Art by Art Tour International Magazine six times in the past decade. According to her website, "Prior to 2012, Griffith focused on selling her paintings in her local and regional areas. She made the decision to take her career into global markets in 2012 and set out on the path by submitting her portfolio to the international jury for the international show scheduled for late 2012. Approximately 80 artists from around the world were juried into the show, almost all with national and/or international name recognition. This prestigious gathering of artists attracted art critics, one of whom was extremely impressed with Griffith abstracts and interviewed her. Soon after returning home to Texas, Griffith received an invitation to submit a portfolio to the curatorial committee of an international fine art gallery in New York City. Her international art career was taking flight. She has collectors in Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, and Italy, as well as across the United States. Griffith's studio is in Salado, Texas and she is represented by C. Parker Gallery in Greenwich, Connecticut and Gagliardi Gallery in London, UK."

We are thrilled to bring you works by this prolific artist who has shown her art across the world including: Florence, Italy; Tokyo, Japan; Monte Carlo, Monaco; Basel, Switzerland; London, England; and Paris, France. We know you'll enjoy discovering this artist and making connections with her pieces. The Museum staff has discovered new shapes and figures every day as we walk through the gallery. Convergence will be on display through April 21 and we hope you'll return again and again to spend time with these works. Please plan to join us on 2.4.24 for a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. where you can meet Kay and learn about her journey to becoming a world renowned abstract expressionist oil painter.
