Celebration of Students Exhibition now showing at the Museum of East Texas

The Museum of East Texas is delighted to share wonderful works from Lufkin ISD students in grades 5K-12th grade throughout the Museum through May 16.
The main gallery showcases the works of Advanced Placement Art students, as well as students in advanced art classes. The gallery also includes Houston Livestock & Rodeo Art program winning work as well as work from students in the Lufkin High School STEM Academy.
The Discoveroom, Rotary Gallery, and Chapel are filled to the brim with works created throughout the year from field trips, 21st Century Texas ACE students, Lufkin ISD Dyslexia students, and more. Kudos to our Education Directors Heather Hatton and Kat Holcomb for filling the walls with work they inspired throughout the year as students came to our space and as Kat did her outreach work through the schools. Thanks to the parents of Dyslexic students who created their works at home and shared them with our visitors.
We are grateful to our partners at Lufkin ISD including Carina de la Cruz, Sylvia Hayes, Allison Hillis, Jackie Ray, Jennifer Stover, Mattie Wesoloski, and Literacy Specialists and to Hudson ISD's Melanie Moses for coordinating the Rodeo art for us. As we anticipate the start of Art Camp, we love seeing the incredible products our area students are creating and sharing them with the world! We hope you'll make the time to come see this show.
