Healing Art Class

June 23, 2-4pm (ages 12+)

  • 10 US dollars
  • Museum of East Texas

Class Description

Kimberly Vega is a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivor who turned to the arts for help in her recovery process. She now offers 'healing art' classes to aid others in recovery. This class offers a transformative space for individuals on their healing journey. TBI survivors like Kimberly are more common than many realize, with statistics showing over 2.8 million cases annually in the United States alone. However, behind each statistic lies a unique individual with a story to tell, a journey of struggle and triumph. Through expressive mediums such as painting, drawing, and sculpting, participants will delve into the depths of their emotions, finding solace and strength in creative expression. Healing art is not just about creating aesthetically pleasing works; it’s about tapping into the innermost recesses of the soul, allowing wounds to be acknowledged and healing to begin. With Kimberly’s guidance, participants will discover the power of art as a tool for self-discovery, empowerment, and ultimately, healing. This class is being offered June 23rd from 2-4pm for ages 12 and up and will cost $10 per participant. Everyone is welcome. Contact Kimberly at kvegaadvocacy@gmail.com with any questions.
